Digital Work Futures Research Lab Seminar

This presentation is about the transformation of the office and office work due to digital technologies. The focus is on the organising aspects of work, i.e. the work tasks individuals and organisations do to be productive. Today, there is a large selection of productivity applications that help workers manage their time, projects, and activities. The functionality of these apps reminds us in many ways of the work performed by the traditional secretary of the late 20th century. Yet, in times of a ‘gigified’ labour market, the days of the secretaries are not over – they are still for rent on a platform near you.
