Presentation

I am a social worker, sexologist (MSc), and hold a PhD in Social Work. I teach at undergraduate and master’s levels, focusing on social work and sexuality studies.

My teaching, research, and professional practice share a common interest in intercultural encounters as lived and embodied experiences, and in interactions between professionals and individuals within welfare contexts such as social work, education, and healthcare. My research examines young people, sexuality, and gender in a society shaped by social, political, cultural, and religious diversity.

Much of my work explores the relationship between policy, discourse, and welfare interventions, and individuals’ perspectives and lived experiences. My doctoral thesis (2024) focused on female genital mutilation/cutting and sexuality. Current projects include studies of racialized emotional labour in social work and a comparative analysis of sexuality education policy and practice in South Africa and Sweden.
