Presentation

Jess Haynie-Lavelle has a master’s in Global Health and is a doctoral student of Global Political Studies with Malmö University. Her research spans the intersection of AI technologies and global health promotion through a political economy lens. Her project is grounded in an investigation of the digital development and implementation of social injustices, the meaning making process of datafication and perpetuated power inequalities. Using a participatory speculative design approach, the thesis project goes on to query the appropriateness of AI systems to promote the health of our everyday transnational communities within digital spaces.
