Presentation

I am a lawyer and senior lecturer in health and society, specializing in medical law. My research has primarily focused on how legal rules and principles are implemented and applied in everyday professional practice across various welfare professions. In my doctoral dissertation, this was examined through the regulation of documentation within the healthcare sector. In recent years, I have worked on a research project concerning the application of law within pediatric and adolescent healthcare.

Looking ahead, I will be examining issues related to how Swedish authorities handle cases involving suspected female genital mutilation (FGM). My main research interest is in how medical statements are used as evidence, and how medical opinions in FGM-related contexts are shaped by the broader sociocultural and politico-legal environments in which they are produced.

My teaching focuses on administrative law, medical law, and research ethics. I am also involved in the ethics committee for student projects at the Faculty of Health and Society, as well as in the Research Ethics Council at Malmö University. In addition, I am a member of the university’s Collegium for Human Rights.
