I am an Assistant Professor in International Migration and Ethnic Relations at Malmo University's Institute for Studies of Migration, Diversity and Welfare.

My research focuses on several aspects of the migration process, including its relationship with development and socio-spatial inequality, migrant decisions and destination choices, the role of local policies in mediating the effects of im/e-migration, and migrant transnational practices.

I have previously held positions at the University of Groningen and Central European University, and have held research fellowships at the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Religious and Ethnic Diversity, the International Migration Institute in Oxford, the University of Amsterdam and the Central European Labour Studies Institute in Bratislava.

I have previously led or consulted on projects for several governments and international organizations, including the European Commission, the International Labor Organization, the International Organization for Migration, the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) and ESPON, among others.
