About the project
With an ageing society and a growing demand for older people’s care, being able to invest in those initiatives that truly contribute to older people’s well-being is more important than ever. Quality-assured measurements of well-being in the older population are however lacking, meaning that we cannot know which persons or groups really need services and interventions and which services or interventions are really leading to better well-being among the older population. The proposed research project aims to create better opportunities for older people’s well-being by focusing on quality-assured measurements of well-being. This work includes making sure that measurement results are free from bias to prohibit unfair or unequal decision-making on investments in initiatives that improve the well-being of different groups of older people in Sweden. Consequently, this project's results will be highly relevant for a large group of older people across different geographical areas, socio-economic backgrounds, and ethnic differences. The project aims to fill this gap by developing a tool to reliably measure the well-being of older people.
