Research results must be reliable. A prerequisite for this is that the methods and instruments—such as surveys/questionnaires—on which the results are based have the ability to accurately measure what they are intended to measure. Despite this, many research findings are based on instruments that have neither been properly developed nor sufficiently tested to ensure their reliability. This leads to research results that are not always accurate.

Our Research

The research group focuses on the development and psychometric testing of new, robust instruments, as well as the translation, psychometric evaluation, or further development of existing instruments. Instruments that are capable to serve as a measure for change and thereby have practical applicability are prioritized. The group welcomes both interprofessional and interdisciplinary projects.

The purpose of the research group is also to gather expertise in instrument development and psychometric testing in order to serve as a methodological support both within and outside the department.

Through the instruments developed by the research group, we aim to contribute to the generation of reliable research results with high clinical applicability.
