About the course

This course focuses on the complex relationship between sport and gender. Sport has a great deal to do with gender, and by studying sport from a gender perspective the possibility of getting close to the heart of sport will increase. This course offers a series of Internet-based lectures, but more importantly, an opportunity to study how sport and gender relate, and what impact this particular relationship has on how we understand sport as well as gender.

Course content

During the course students are expected to search for knowledge about gender and sport through scientific journals that include these fields. To enable this kind of review scientific articles in international journals are highly important. The article search is expected to comprise of both sport science journals and gender science journals. The journals are to be studied over a specific period of time and the student will analyze the content in the scientific journals in the intersection of the fields. The course will be terminated by a longer essay where the review is presented.

Course evaluation

Malmö University provides students who participate in, or who have completed a course, with the opportunity to express their opinions and describe their experiences of the course by completing a course evaluation administered by the University. The University will compile and summarise the results of course evaluations. The University will also inform participants of the results and any decisions relating to measures taken in response to the course evaluations. The results will be made available to the students (HF 1:14).
