This year, the Eurovisions conference will take place in the week of the semi-finals of the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC).
- Tuesday 7 May, 09.00 – 14.00 in the Niagara building, Nordenskiöldsgatan 1
- Wednesday 8 May, 09.00 – 13.00 at Media Evolution City
The conference will once again embrace a hybrid format, welcoming participants both onsite in Malmö and online through our Youtube and other social media channels.
About
The seventh Eurovisions conference will explore the complex relationships between music, identity, and migration. Alongside our established Science Slam for early career researchers, and our dynamic round table discussions featuring an interdisciplinary range of scholars, industry practitioners, and enthusiasts, we are collaborating on a conference seminar organized by Malmö University together with Linnaeus University. Additionally, a special documentary screening on the Portuguese Festival da Canção in partnership with the public broadcaster RTP will be shown.
This year’s conference is a collaborative effort involving scholars from Germany, Portugal, the UK, the Netherlands, the USA, and Sweden.
