About the seminar

The term shared authority was coined by Michael Frisch as the title of a volume, A Shared Authority: Essays on the Craft and Meaning of Oral and Public History. Frisch contributed to the current SI with an afterword and will initiate the seminar with a reflection on how shared authority, has been used by himself and other scholars over the years. After Frisch’s introduction all the authors of the articles will participate in a panel, moderated by Malin Thor Tureby and Annika Olsson (editors of Revisiting Shared Authority), where we explore and discuss how we as scholars from different disciplines working with oral history have worked with shared/sharing authority, what we have learned and how we can continue to learn and work together in the future.

The hybrid seminar will be English and will be followed by a mingle with something bubbly and snacks.

A special thank you to the Department of Society, Culture and Identity and the Faculty of Culture and Society, Malmö university for supporting the seminar.
