My research area is high translucent zirconium dioxide (zirconia), a ceramic material used for dental restorations. I focus on how the material properties of different types of zirconia are affected by the handling during the manufacturing process of dental restorations.

During the manufacturing, the material is exposed to a number of processing factors that can have a significant effect on the longevity of the final restoration. My research is needed to be able to select appropriate procedures in the dental laboratory and in the clinic to ensure sustainable patient treatments.
