My research focuses on family reunification and Syrian refugees in Sweden and Turkey. My professional background includes working as a teacher for newly-arrived refugees, whereas my academic background is in both Public Health and Migration Studies. I combine these two fields in my dissertation by, looking at health consequences due to family separation using a mixed method approach. My research interests include migration and health, refugee migration, family migration, transnationalism, waitinghood and policy changes' connection to health outcomes.
