Katarina Sjögren Forss is a public health scientist, Doctor of Medical Science, and Associate Professor of Nursing Science. She earned her Ph.D. at Lund University in 2013 with her dissertation titled "Participation in Physical Activity in Relation to Different Life-Change Events."

She is affiliated with Citizen Health – the Centre for Research on Health Equity, a research center dedicated to improving public health and reducing health disparities through community-engaged research and education. Her research interests include physical activity, health promotion, children's well-being, and the health of older adults. She has experience in both qualitative and quantitative research methods, as well as in participatory approaches. Her experience in doctoral education ranges from supervising Ph.D. students to leading doctoral courses, and she supervises students across a variety of research fields, including professional development, palliative care, and existential loneliness.

She also has extensive experience teaching at both undergraduate and advanced levels, primarily within nursing programs, specialist nursing programs, and master's programs in nursing science. This includes supervising students’ theses and holding leadership roles in education. She currently serves as the program director for the Master’s Program in Nursing Science.
