Alicia is a researcher within Participatory Design, and a senior lecturer in graphic design. She defended her doctoral dissertation, The Labor of Infrastructuring, in 2022. Her thesis centers around the issue of agency within participatory design processes. Here, she examines co-creation processes between the public sector and citizens, and analyzes obstacles to sustainable collaboration between sectors.

As a researcher Alicia works with infrastructuring, the building and maintenance of socio-matierial infrastructures. She is currently active in two research projects: Deltagande i klimatomställningen run by Miljöförvaltningen, Malmö stad, and funded by Energimyndigheten; and a Policylabb for climate adjustments of transportation infrastructures*, together with researchers from VTI, and stakholders from five Swedish municipalities.
