Alicia is a doctoral researcher in Participatory Design, with a strong socio-political focus. She defended her doctoral dissertation, The Labor of Infrastructuring, in 2022. Her thesis centers around the issue of agency within participatory design processes. She examines co-creation processes between the public sector and citizens, and analyzes obstacles to sustainable collaboration between sectors.
Alicia has experience in both social design, and as a practitioner in graphic design and printing. Her research has often concerned itself with the intersection between science and creative practices. Alicia currently works as a lecturer at K3's program for graphic design, where she encourages students to see their craft as a knowledge generating process.
