About the project

As Sweden strives to become net-zero emissions by 2045, innovative solutions incorporating distributed energy sources will play a significant role in optimizing energy usage and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The majority of energy systems in the future will be hybrid, relying on different energy types. With the development of the Internet of Things systems and the advancement of AI technologies, the integration of various energy types will become increasingly important in future energy systems. This project aims to develop methods for real-time multi-objective optimization use of hybrid energy systems. We will investigate the optimal integration of district heating, and heat pumps, using artificial intelligence (in particular machine learning) and common architectures for supporting the management of hybrid energy systems considering trust, privacy, and users' aspects.
