Project description
In my research project, I investigate how inequality is organized in the municipal home care work in Malmö and how the inequality affects the assistant nurses and care assistants who work in the home care. The latter concerns, among other things, the feelings and emotions that the inequality gives rise to within the home care workers. The inequality will be studied from an intersectional perspective with a focus on class, sex/gender, race/ethnicity and sexuality.
Theoretically, I am inspired by the sociologist and organizational researcher Joan Acker's theory that organizations have inequality regimes. Through interviews and focus groups, the study will be carried out together with research participants consisting of assistant nurses and care assistants who work in the home care in Malmö.
