Presentation

I am an Associate Professor (Docent) of English and education. My research interests include children’s and young adult literature, creative writing, and critical pedagogy. Currently, I amparticularly interested in the relationship between creative processes and reading practices, which has led to various practice-based school research (mainly in the collaboration between school librarians and the subject teacher in working with literary texts) and the development of a/r/tography as a research method within children’s and young adult literature. My work is also informed by Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari, whose ideas I engage with in both research and teaching. I am a member of the Deleuze and Guattari seminar group at the Institute for Culture, Languages and Media (KSM).

I primarily teach in English teacher training programme (both GL and ÄL) and I supervise students’ independent degree projects. I am also involved in freestanding courses such as Children’s Literature from a Global Perspective and A/r/tography: Between Creative Practice, Research, and Teaching.

As a creative writer, I have published several novels and poetry collections in English and Indonesian. I have also translated a number of children’s books from Nordic languages into Indonesian.
