Malin Axelsson is a Registered Nurse and Associate professor in Care Science. The research focuses on adherence to medication treatment, personality, symptom control, disease management and health-related quality of life. She collaborates with researchers in the population-based studies West Sweden Asthma Study and Obstructive Lung Disease in Norrbotten who investigate epidemiological and clinical aspects of asthma, allergies and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. The research also includes preventive nursing through the research project PROSENIOR where risk assessments and prevention regarding falls, pressure ulcers, malnutrition and poor oral health in older people are studied. The research also includes learning in higher education and interprofessional learning in the research platform RIDHE. The research also focuses on healthcare professionals - the research project HOPE investigates threats and violence and the project PCC@work investigates person-centred working approaches.
