Research interest

My research focuses on educational governance and leadership, particularly the governance of schools, the superintendent reform, principals' processes of meaning-making, and the ways in which democracy is represented and constructed within educational contexts. My doctoral thesis, due for completion at the end of 2026, is titled Governing through Positions: The Superintendent in Contemporary Educational Governance. A further area of interest concerns the democratic mission of schools, including how democratic, social, and ecological issues are framed and addressed in teaching and learning practices.

My main competence

My expertise lies primarily in school improvement, educational organisation and leadership, systematic quality assurance and improvement processes, and professional facilitation. I also have a background in public health. I serve as a professional mentor and facilitator for superintendents, leadership teams, principals, and head teachers. In addition, I facilitate professional networks for preschool principals and am the course leader for the principal's programme "Leading student health".
