Project description

This project aims at developing an interdisciplinary international project regarding the Uruguayan exile in Sweden during the civic-military dictatorship (1973-1985), with a special focus on the second and third generations.

The general objectives are twofold: on the one hand we intend to recollect and analyse documentation on the Uruguayan exile in Sweden and, on the other hand, we will explore and analyse the cultural productions on the problematics of exile of Uruguayans in Sweden.

The project is a collaboration between researchers at Malmö University, Gothenburg Universitet and Universidad de la República (Udelar), and will be conducted in relationship with the Museum of Memory (mume.montevideo.gub.uy) in Montevideo.
