About the project
Considering the prevalent debate surrounding the school subject Swedish as a second language (SSL), the actual teaching of the subject has not received much attention in research, especially in primary school. In this project, we use ethnographic methods of data collection to study processes of teaching reading and writing in SSL with a focus on grades 4–6.
The overarching purpose is to contribute new knowledge about the possibilities SSL teachers create for students' participation in subject-specific text practices. The project group consists of Robert Walldén (project leader and main applicant), Eva Wennås Brante (co-applicant) and Anna Lindholm (project researcher).
