Sustainability Studies
Studies
Sustainability Studies is rooted in the social movements for democracy and the environment of the 1960s and 1970s. It deals with the tensions between the three pillars of economics, environmental and social sustainability, and the concept of sustainable development.
Research is focussed around three themes of sustainability:
- climate adaption, air pollution, eco system services
- sustainable urban development, and planning
- human relations, health and well-being
Sustainability research has its basis in subjects like human ecology and environmental science.
