Maja Povrzanović Frykman är professor i etnologi. Undervisar i freds- och konfliktvetenskap och i IMER vid Globala Politiska Studier (GPS). Ansvarig för forskarutbildningen vid samma institution. Handledare för doktorander i Lund, Linköping, Zagreb och vid Malmö universitet. Extern medarbetare (forskarutbildning) vid Filosofiska fakulteten i Zagreb.

Forskningsområden

Migration, högutbildade migranter, transnationella praktiker, diaspora, krigserfarenheter, flyktingskap, etnicitet och plats, affekt och materiell kultur.
